Tricked!

Valium use in dogs and cats.

Please note: Some dogs will also become aggressive on valium and not sedated. Please use this with caution and under Veterinarian supervision.

While oral valium may help you and your dog, it is VERY dangerous when given to cats… especially chronically. Some vets may use this for behavioral problems, sedation, or aggression in cats, but beware – it can cause rare, severe LIVER failure!

Thank you Pet Poison Helpline for this information!

Medication errors can happen to pets, too. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has advice on what you can do to help prevent these errors.

ASPCAs Cruelty Intervention Advocacy program administers Partners in Caring Grants which provide grants to financially disadvantaged pet owners for emergency veterinary care in times of crisis. At this time the ASPCA has support available for New York City pet owners that have been directly impacted by Hurricane Sandy.

It’s that time of the year again, where we remind you that all of those wonderful holiday foods should be kept away from your pets. Enjoy your holidays, and don’t spend the holiday evening or the next day in the pet emergency room.
